#1. After reading the first chapter I realized how drastically the film industry has changed since it's beginnings. You see how just after a couple of decades the films go from single frame clips, to 30 minute movies with color and sound. Learning about how people managed to watch these movies, before sound, and fully understand them shows how much effort the creator of the film put into the movie. Even though these films were only 5 minutes they still conveyed a deep message with them. I think that is the coolest thing I've learned so far.
#2. I think movies can be a social benefit because of the strong situations the can display. Like during World War 2 how they used film to show people over in Europe fighting to get others to join the fight. They also have been used in anti-bullying campaigns and have even showed a difference.
